Uniform Care

Marching Band Uniforms Altering

The bottom of the pant leg must be 2.5 inches above the floor with marching shoes on.  You MUST hem the pants by hand using needle and black thread. -- Just put a few stitches in every inch or so – it’s easy.

·      DO NOT rely on the snaps on the inside of the pant legs; they may not match the required pants length

·      DO NOT use safety pins or paper clips

·      DO NOT use Iron-on hemming shortcuts

·      DO NOT have the pants professionally hemmed; these hems are difficult to remove at the end of the year

·      DO NOT cut the pants

When:  Pants must be hemmed no later than September 5.  Students with unhemmed or improperly hemmed uniforms will not be permitted to march with the band.

Washing:  Pants (bibbers) and Jacket should be washed on gentle cycle with a mild liquid detergent (powders can leave white residue). Turn the jacket inside out and zip it up to protect the buttons and trim.

Hang to dry.  DO NOT put in dryer.
